In preparation for the upcoming ODI series against Bangladesh, Afghanistan has made two notable additions to their squad, which recently triumphed over South Africa in Sharjah. The team has welcomed opening batter Sediqullah Atal and left-arm wristspinner Noor Ahmad into a 19-man roster. Unfortunately, Ibrahim Zadran and Mujeeb Ur Rahman have been ruled out as they continue their recovery from injuries.
Ahmad Shah Sulimankhil, the chief selector for Afghanistan Cricket Board, provided updates on the squad. "Ibrahim Zadran is currently undergoing rehabilitation after his recent ankle surgery, and Mujeeb Ur Rahman is also unavailable due to ongoing treatment for his hand injury," Sulimankhil said. "However, we're pleased to have Noor Ahmad back in the squad, and Sediqullah Atal's consistent performances have earned him his place."
The three-match ODI series against Bangladesh will take place from November 6 to 11, and it will serve as a crucial part of Afghanistan's preparation for the Champions Trophy in February 2025. In their last series against South Africa, Afghanistan made headlines by securing their first-ever series win against a top-five ICC-ranked team.
