Alzarri Joseph Storms Off Pitch After Heated Spat with Captain Shai Hope
Joseph's protest escalated when he left the field and walked to the dugout, leaving West Indies to field with 10 players for one over. He was seen conversing with teammate Hayden Walsh before rejoining the game.
In a dramatic turn of events during the 3rd ODI between West Indies and England at Kensington Oval, pacer Alzarri Joseph stormed off the field after a heated exchange with captain Shai Hope. The incident occurred in the fourth over of England's innings when Joseph expressed his frustration over the field placements set by Hope. Despite delivering a wicket-maiden, Joseph seemed unhappy with the positioning, and animatedly gestured his displeasure.
This unusual incident sparked a wave of controversy and caught fans by surprise. However, the West Indies went on to claim a comprehensive 8-wicket victory, securing the series with a 2-1 win over England.
Brandon King (102) and Keacy Carty (128*) both struck centuries in an impressive second-wicket partnership, guiding West Indies to a comfortable target of 267 in response to England's 263/8. Carty’s century came off 114 balls, including 15 fours and 2 sixes. The pair's partnership of 209 runs easily overshadowed the early loss of Evin Lewis.
England's innings had been shaky at 24/4, with Phil Salt (74) fighting a lone battle to prevent a complete collapse. Sam Curran and Dan Mousley contributed with 40 and 57 respectively. Despite Salt's valiant knock, it wasn’t enough to steer England to victory.
West Indies’ series win mirrored their 2-1 triumph over England in the Caribbean the previous year, with personnel changes expected as they move into the T20 series.
