Ancelotti Says Mbappé 'Not Affected' by Reports of Investigation in Sweden
The controversy arose following Mbappé's visit to Stockholm during the international break when he was sidelined from the French national team due to a minor thigh injury. Reports from Swedish media suggested that the striker was under investigation for an alleged incident at a hotel in the city. However, Mbappé's representatives have labeled these claims as "false and irresponsible."
Real Madrid's head coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has expressed confidence in Kylian Mbappé's focus and well-being, dismissing recent Swedish media reports that linked the French captain to a rape investigation. According to Ancelotti, the star player is "not affected in the least" by the allegations, which Mbappé's legal team has firmly denied as false.
During a press conference on Friday, Ancelotti stated, "I do not pay attention to speculations that come from outside the team," reinforcing his belief in Mbappé's ability to remain focused on football despite the surrounding noise.

On Tuesday, Swedish prosecutors confirmed that a rape had been reported to the police but did not disclose any suspects. Ancelotti, however, defended Mbappé's right to travel during his time off. "The rest days are programmed for him, and he can choose what he wants to do. I went to London for two days and didn't ask anyone for permission," Ancelotti remarked.
Mbappé sustained a left thigh injury in late September, which caused him to miss only one game for Madrid. He returned to the pitch as a substitute during a surprising 1-0 loss to Lille in the Champions League, before starting in a 2-0 victory over Villarreal in La Liga. He subsequently sat out the international window to focus on recovery.
Ancelotti noted that Mbappé utilized the break to enhance his fitness, stating, "He took advantage of the break to improve his fitness and get well after the injury. He is happy and ready to play and be important for the team. These 15 days have helped because he is now a different player than before the break."
As Real Madrid prepares for their upcoming match against Celta Vigo on Saturday, the team's management is optimistic about Mbappé's contributions moving forward.
