The Board of Control for Cricket in India, BCCI, ended the annual awards with the announcement on January 31, 2025. They recognized the finest Indian cricket achievements of the year 2023-24. It was really a very outstanding season with exemplary performances in multiple categories both for international and domestic cricket.

Perhaps the biggest highlight of the ceremony would be the crowning of Jasprit Bumrah as the Best International Cricketer in the Men's category. Jasprit Bumrah, India's ace pacer, played wonders in the year 2024 and ensured he emerged to be one of world cricket's top bowlers. It was Smriti Mandhana who received the coveted award in the Women's category; consistent contributions were key to getting women's cricket back on its feet again.

Sachin Tendulkar receives lifetime achievement award

It marked a landmark day as it was announced by the Col. C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award as the doyen of Indian cricket, Sachin Tendulkar, someone who contributed to something very different to the game and inspiration to generations of cricketing heroes and heroines across the world, and recognition towards him is just a tribute toward the very long legacy which he built throughout his illustrious cricketing career and many records crumbling.

Recognition of Emerging Talent and Domestic Excellence

The BCCI Awards are the culmination of excellence that since its beginning in the season of 2006-07 identified not just established stars, but also those with emerging talent. This year the Best Domestic Team award has gone to Mumbai in the shape of dominant performances that the team had shown on BCCI domestic fronts.

Best International Debut for men was taken home by Sarfaraz Khan and Asha Sobhana respectively, as an ode to the impactful entry of these players into international cricket. Ravichandran Ashwin was given a BCCI Special Award for his extra-ordinary contribution to the game.

Celebration of Women's Cricket

The award ceremony celebrated the best performance in women's cricket, which this time was not different; Smriti Mandhana yet again won the Highest Run-Getter in ODIs, and Deepti Sharma won Highest Wicket-Taker in ODIs. Women's cricket had grown with the main players; the awards gave recognition.

Best Run-Getter of Elite Group: Ricky Bhui (Andhra Pradesh)

Best Wicket-Taker of Elite Group: Tanay Thyagarajan (Hyderabad)

Best Run-Getter of Plate Group: Agni Chopra (Mizoram)

Best Wicket-Taker of Plate Group: Mohit Jangra (Mizoram)

Lala Amarnath Awards were intended to be bestowed upon the best all-rounders at the national domestic level:

Best All-Rounder in Ranji Trophy: Tanush Kotian (Mumbai)

Best All-Rounder in Limited-Overs Competitions: Shashank Singh (Chhattisgarh)

Awards for Excellence in Umpiring

The integrity of the game was well-recognized through individuals who keep the integrity of the game-the umpires-as Akshay Totre bagged the award for Best Umpire in Domestic Cricket.
