India's captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, has made a significant climb in the latest ICC Women's ODI rankings, moving up to a joint ninth position. This rise came after her crucial 59 not out off 63 balls in India's six-wicket win over New Zealand in the third ODI of their ICC Women's Championship series in Ahmedabad. Kaur had dropped three spots after the first two matches, but her performance helped her regain her place in the top 10.
Smriti Mandhana, India’s opener, remains steady in fourth place, having gained 23 rating points following her player-of-the-match performance in the same ODI, where she scored 100 runs. With a total of 728 rating points, Mandhana is just five points behind Sri Lanka's Chamari Athapaththu.
Other notable performances include wicketkeeper Yastika Bhatia, who improved her ranking from 48th to 45th after scoring 35 runs in the series. For New Zealand, Brooke Halliday's 86-run knock lifted her 12 spots to 24th, and Georgia Plimmer's 39 runs saw her rise from 85th to 74th.
In the bowling rankings, Deepti Sharma gained important rating points after her 3/39 performance in the third ODI, helping her maintain second place among bowlers with 703 points. England's Sophie Ecclestone remains the top-ranked bowler with 770 points.
India's pacer Renuka Singh also made strides, moving up four places to 32nd, while Saima Thakor and Priya Mishra made notable progress in the rankings as well.
As for the ICC Women's Championship standings, India is in third position with 25 points, while New Zealand sits in sixth with 20 points. Australia and England lead the standings with 28 points each.
