Young players like Prithvi Shaw and Sarfaraz Khan have a lower base price of Rs 75 lakh, while Anderson, who retired from international cricket but has never played in the IPL, has registered at a base price of Rs 1.25 crore.
The IPL 2025 Player Auction is set to take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with a total of 1,574 players (1,165 Indian and 409 overseas) registering for the event. The list includes 320 capped players, 1,224 uncapped players, and 30 players from Associate Nations. However, there are a few notable absences, most strikingly that of England's Ben Stokes, who is missing from the registration list.
The player list will be trimmed down after consultations with the franchises. Among the most high-profile names, former captains Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, and Shreyas Iyer are set to go under the hammer with a base price of Rs 2 crore. The same base price has been set for top spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal, both not retained by Rajasthan Royals. Other notable Indian cricketers like James Anderson, Khaleel Ahmed, Deepak Chahar, and several others, including pacers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Siraj, have also registered with the highest base price of Rs 2 crore.
Young players like Prithvi Shaw and Sarfaraz Khan have a lower base price of Rs 75 lakh, while Anderson, who retired from international cricket but has never played in the IPL, has registered at a base price of Rs 1.25 crore.
In a surprising inclusion, Italian cricketer Thomas Draca, who was recently picked by MI Emirates for the ILT20 in the UAE, is among the registrants, marking an interesting development for global cricket representation in the IPL.
