IPL 2025 Schedule Published in Full-Largest Matches, Stadiums, and Innovation Matches

India's cricketing Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) unveiled the highly anticipated 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) schedule as host venues of a promising campaign prepare. The season-opener of the 18th season is on March 22 with back-to-back title holders Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) welcoming Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to legendary Eden Gardens, Kolkata. This May 25 decider final at the venue is the crowning glory of a first-class cricket carnival.

There will be 74 games in 65 days over 13 venues. IPL 2025 will be one of the most thrilling seasons of the league with a mix of traditional derbies, new team pairs, and smart scheduling.

Highlights of IPL 2025 Schedule

March 22 - Season-opener RCB vs KKR at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

League Stage phase: March 22 to May 18.

Playoffs schedule: 20th May to 25th May.

Final Match: 25th May at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Total Matches: 74 games across 13 grounds.

Double-Header Matches: 12 double-header days with afternoon games at 03:30 PM IST and evening games at 07:30 PM IST.

Major Clashes to Expect

The largest most-awaited clash of every IPL season is the legendary CSK vs. MI match popularly referred to as the 'El Clasico' of the IPL. CSK and MI will meet twice this season, first in Chennai on March 23 and then in Mumbai on April 20. CSK will meet twice with RCB, first in Chennai on March 28 and then in Bengaluru on May 3.

Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru would be playing against each other once, which would take place on 7th April at Wankhede Stadium, thereby making the tournament exciting as both of them would be fighting to place first.

Two Home Venues for Specific Teams

Three teams this year would be having home games in two venues:

Delhi Capitals (DC): Two Visakhapatnam and two Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi matches.

Rajasthan Royals (RR): Two home matches in Guwahati (against CSK and KKR) and the equilibrium at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.

Punjab Kings (PBKS): Four matches at New PCA Stadium, New Chandigarh and three at scenic Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala (against MI, DC, and LSG).

New Leadership and Player Updates

One of the big IPL 2025 pre-tournament news is that Rajat Patidar has been appointed Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain in place of released Faf du Plessis. Stock batsman Patidar has captained Madhya Pradesh in home matches like the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy and is therefore the most appropriate individual to lead RCB.

In Mumbai Indians news, the team signed up off-spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman in place of Allah Ghazanfar, who hasn't been with the team this season following a calamitous injury. Afghanistan's next Champions Trophy appearance will be also tainted with Afghan young talent non-availability.

Venues and Host Cities

IPL 2025 will take place at some of India's top cricket grounds such as Eden Gardens (Kolkata), Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai), M. Chinnaswamy Stadium (Bengaluru), Narendra Modi Stadium (Ahmedabad), Arun Jaitley Stadium (Delhi), and newly built PCA Stadium in Chandigarh. Dharamsala and Guwahati too have few matches organized by them, and therefore city-based fans of the two cities also have an opportunity to watch the tournament live too.

Countdown to Jaw-Dropping Season

Already awestruck a month on, the countdown to IPL 2025 has hardly begun. The sporting world holds its breath for eyeball-blinding matches, edge-of-the-seat finish, and cherished memories.

The complete fixture list of fixtures for the entire calendar season is released now, and the fans thus get to know where and when their own favorite side is going to be playing. The teams themselves will be preparing to face one another on the ground for strong tests as the fans themselves are going to be witness to a season of record-breaking drama, tactical magic, and most importantly, quality cricketing action.
