Messi Set to Play at New FIFA Club World Cup with Inter Miami Included

Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami is poised to be among the 32 teams participating in the revamped FIFA Club World Cup next summer in the United States. This exciting development means that fans will have the chance to see the legendary 37-year-old forward compete alongside stars like Kylian Mbappé, Vinicius Jr., Erling Haaland, Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, and Cole Palmer.

Inter Miami's inclusion comes as a result of their achievement in winning the Supporters’ Shield, which is awarded to the MLS team with the best record during the regular season. With 30 teams already qualified, Inter Miami will occupy the spot reserved for a host nation’s club, while the final slot will be filled by the winner of South America’s 2024 Copa Libertadores.

The new FIFA Club World Cup, which will feature a total of 63 matches, is set to kick off on June 15, 2025, culminating in the final at MetLife Stadium on July 13, 2025.
