Mickey Arthur Appointed Head Coach of Rangpur Riders

Rangpur Riders have announced the appointment of Mickey Arthur as their head coach for the upcoming Global Super League (GSL) season, which begins on November 26, as well as the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The 56-year-old coach brings a wealth of experience, having previously led national teams such as South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan. Arthur is currently the director of cricket for Derbyshire and recently coached the Dambulla Aura team in the Lanka Premier League.

Rangpur Riders’ team director, Shanian Taneem, confirmed the one-year deal, highlighting Arthur’s active involvement in team preparations for both the GSL and BPL. “He’s already working closely with us on squad development,” Taneem noted, adding that Arthur’s expertise and approachable nature have excited the local players.

Arthur returns to the BPL after previously coaching the Dhaka Dynamites in 2015. His appointment is seen as a valuable asset to the Riders, with Taneem expressing confidence that Arthur’s experience will benefit Bangladeshi cricketers in particular.
