Mitchell Starc's Blistering Spell Leaves Fans Awestruck

One of the highest moments was when Nitish Rana who was playing beautifully was caught LBW by a quick inswinging yorker which tailed in late and hit him right in front. Despite the wet ball and heavy dew Starc remained unfazed. He stuck to his game plan and kept landing yorkers right at the batters' toes. Shimron Hetmyer managed a couple of boundaries but most deliveries were either singles or dot balls. When RR required only three runs from the last two balls the match was as good as over. Even if things did not go his way he wanted to at least know he had executed his plan properly. This mindset helped him stay focused even when the pressure was mounting. The application of saliva on the ball which is once again permitted was instrumental in this game. The reverse swing which Starc could produce resulted from the use of saliva something players had not applied for years because of prohibitions. RR batsman Nitish Rana admitted to this stating that they had not even trained for such conditions and that Starc's capacity to restore reverse swing was revolutionary.

This performance will not be forgotten as one of the moments of the IPL 2025. Starc's cool under pressure his skill at bowling flawless yorkers and his performance when it really counted were unequalled. The manner in which he defended only eight runs off the last over and took the game to a Super Over from a situation where the team was almost out of it was nothing short of extraordinary.
