Mushfiqur Rahim Ruled Out of West Indies Test Series
Bangladesh will play two Tests, followed by three ODIs and as many T20Is against the West Indies. Mushfiqur is expected to rejoin the team for the ODIs if his recovery is on track, as he had already retired from T20Is.
Bangladesh's veteran batter, Mushfiqur Rahim, has been ruled out of the upcoming two-match Test series against the West Indies, scheduled to begin on November 22. The 37-year-old sustained a fracture in the tip of his left index finger while keeping wickets during the first ODI against Afghanistan in Sharjah. As a result, he was also ruled out of the ongoing three-match ODI series.
A member of the national selection panel confirmed that Mushfiqur’s recovery will take at least four to six weeks, making him unavailable for the Test series. "He is not playing the Test series against West Indies as it will take at least a month or more to recover," the selector stated. However, it is hoped that Mushfiqur will be fit to participate in the ODI leg of the series, with his availability for those matches to be assessed based on his recovery progress.
Mushfiqur, a key middle-order batsman for Bangladesh, typically bats at number four or five in the Test format but was forced to bat at number seven during the opening ODI against Afghanistan due to his injury. He is expected to return home soon for further treatment and recovery.

Despite Mushfiqur’s absence, the team management has not made any moves to find a replacement for him in the ongoing ODI series against Afghanistan. Litton Das, who was rumored to take Mushfiqur's place, is actually traveling to Dubai for personal reasons and will rejoin the squad for the West Indies tour.
