Prasidh Krishna Doubtful for India’s Test Series Against New Zealand
India is set to host New Zealand in a three-match Test series, with the first match to be held at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Team India has been dealt a setback as fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has reportedly sustained an injury during Karnataka’s Ranji Trophy Elite Group C match against Madhya Pradesh. The injury occurred during the four-day match at Holkar Stadium, raising fresh concerns about his fitness.
Prasidh Krishna, who was named as a travelling reserve for India’s upcoming three-match Test series against New Zealand on October 11, bowled just eight overs on the first day of the Ranji game and was absent from the field on the third day. This has sparked worries about his availability for the upcoming international series.
Although official confirmation from the Karnataka Cricket Board is still pending, reports suggest that Prasidh experienced discomfort while running on the opening day of the Ranji match. According to Sportstar, these concerns have cast doubt on his participation in the New Zealand series, which begins on October 16.
