Prince Yadav Shines in IPL 2025 with Travis Head Wicket
Prince Yadav created an impact in IPL 2025 by getting the in-form Travis Head out. His career-best wicket changed the complexion of the match, demonstrating his caliber on the biggest stage.

Prince Yadav was the talk of the town for his good work in the IPL 2025 SunRisers Hyderabad vs Lucknow Super Giants game. Delhi-born 23-year-old pacer Prince Yadav bowled a challenging spell and picked up the important wicket of Australian batsman Travis Head. Prince Yadav's wicket of the Australian top-order batsman was a turning point in completing SRH's 20-over run at 190/9. At the conclusion of the game, Prince Yadav had figures of 4-0-29-1, which vindicated his worth in a pressure game.
Before making a mark in the IPL, Prince Yadav became famous at the domestic level. He established himself first in the Delhi Premier League with the Purani Delhi 6 team captained by Rishabh Pant in 2024. He performed very well during that season by taking 13 wickets in 10 games. This paved the way for his Delhi debut in white-ball cricket, where he carried on with his brilliance. His outstanding performances did not go unnoticed by IPL scouts either, and he was bought by Lucknow Super Giants for INR 30 lakh at IPL 2025 auction.
Prince Yadav did not become an overnight success. He struggled hard in domestic tournaments and showcased his potential before making it to the IPL. In Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy, he was the top wicket-taker of Delhi, who picked 11 wickets at 7.54 economy. His wicket-taking performances and control over runs made him a useful player for Delhi. He also showed good performance in Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he once again became Delhi's highest wicket-taker with 11 wickets. Such performances reflected his consistency and potential as one of the best fast bowlers in the league.
During the match against SunRisers Hyderabad, Prince Yadav offered a clinical breakthrough by dismissing Travis Head, who was ominous in the crease. Head was batting easily and had already scored 47 runs from 28 balls. He had taken an aggressive approach, hitting sixes and boundaries to intimidate the bowlers of LSG. He was especially harsh on Avesh Khan, striking two sixes and a four off his over. Head received two lifelines for dropped catches, but his innings were cut short by Prince Yadav bowling him, taking his first IPL wicket. This changed the trajectory of the game as it brought down the run rate of SRH.
Besides Prince Yadav, Shardul Thakur was also pivotal in the bowling of LSG. Thakur registered a dream comeback by picking up four wickets in the game. Thakur began aggressively by sending back Abishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan in two consecutive balls in the third over. His aggressive spell placed LSG in a dominant position at the start of the game.
There were one or two more turning points in the match which made the game an electrifying encounter as well. Heinrich Klaasen had a small 26 off 17 deliveries knock but was run out in a most uncommon way. He hit a straight drive, which was deflected by the follow-through of Prince Yadav, and struck the stumps, and he was out of the crease. Young Aniket Verma also impressed with a rapid 36 off 13 balls, striking five sixes before getting dismissed by leg-spinner Disvesh Rathi. SRH skipper Pat Cummins supplied a late flurry, striking three sixes in his initial three balls before getting dismissed.
All these endeavors notwithstanding, LSG's good bowling held SRH back at 190/9. IPL 2025 unveiled the new face of Prince Yadav as a young and emerging fast bowler. His pressure game under pressure and ability to pick up big wickets indicate his prospect as a future game-changer. Through this good performance, he has come out to the big stage with his debut performance and will be a watchman to look up to in upcoming matches
