Rashid Khan Set to Make Test Return with Zimbabwe Tour
"We are confident that Rashid will play for us in the Test series against Zimbabwe," Naseeb stated. "He had a long recovery due to his back surgery, and we wanted him to fully recover before he took on the demands of Test cricket. Now he looks fine and ready to feature for us."
Afghanistan all-rounder Rashid Khan is set to make his return to Test cricket during the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe, as confirmed by Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) Chief Executive Naseeb Khan. This announcement came shortly after the ACB detailed the itinerary for the tour, which will feature two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is.
Rashid had been sidelined from longer-format matches following a back injury, which required surgery. His recovery process led to his absence from the Test series against New Zealand, and there were initial concerns about his availability for the Zimbabwe series. However, Naseeb Khan expressed confidence in Rashid's readiness to compete in the Test format.

The tour is set to commence with a three-match T20I series, taking place on December 9, 11, and 12 at the Harare Sports Club. This will be followed by a three-match ODI series on December 15, 17, and 19 at the same venue. The tour will conclude with a two-match Test series in Bulawayo, with the first Test scheduled from December 26 to 30, followed by the second Test from January 2 to 6.
Rashid’s return is highly anticipated, as he has been a key player for Afghanistan in various formats. His experience and skill will be crucial as the team looks to build momentum during the tour.
