Scotland Squad Update for Nations League Matches

Scotland are set to welcome back several key players for their upcoming Nations League matches against Croatia and Poland. The squad sees the return of vice-captain John McGinn, alongside regulars like Scott McKenna, Jack Hendry, Greg Taylor, Lawrence Shankland, and Tommy Conway.

Ipswich Town goalkeeper Cieran Slicker has earned his first call-up to the senior squad, having previously represented Scotland at the under-21 level, while uncapped Rangers midfielder Connor Barron retains his place following a late call-up for the 0-0 draw against Portugal. Despite picking up an injury in Torino's recent defeat to Fiorentina, Che Adams is included in the squad.

Scotland are currently bottom of Group A1 with just one point from four matches, trailing Poland by three points. The upcoming fixtures will be crucial for Scotland’s hopes of progressing in the competition. Croatia, who defeated Scotland 2-1 in Zagreb last month, will visit Hampden on November 15, followed by the final group match in Warsaw against Poland three days later.

Injury concerns have affected several players, with Kieran Tierney, Aaron Hickey, Angus Gunn, and Kevin Nisbet all unavailable. Lewis Ferguson, fresh off a six-month layoff, has not been included, and Nathan Patterson, who is back in Everton's squad but has yet to feature, is also omitted.
