Sehwag Teases Mishra for Discussing Dhoni and CSK in SRH Debate
Virender Sehwag jokingly mocks Amit Mishra for mentioning MS Dhoni and CSK while discussing Sunrisers Hyderabad. Read the humorous exchange and how Dhoni and CSK still dominate cricket talk even when their matches are not being played.

In a recent live YouTube session, cricket enthusiasts saw a humorous yet witty banter between two retired Indian cricketers. Virender Sehwag did not shy away from teasing his former teammate Amit Mishra. The incident occurred during a post-match analysis when the subject was about the present performance of SunRisers Hyderabad. Mishra was to discuss SRH and if they can still qualify for the playoffs. Instead, he began discussing Chennai Super Kings and MS Dhoni. This change of topic caught everyone's eye particularly Sehwag's who immediately called him out on it.
Amit Mishra appeared to forget the question at hand and started talking about how CSK would still be able to reach the playoffs. He told that it seemed nearly impossible for CSK to win all their remaining matches due to the brand of cricket they are currently playing. He indicated that in order for CSK to stand any chance, they need big performances in every aspect of the game. Mishra also said that Dhoni must think about coming up the order and playing at least 30 deliveries if CSK has to make any impact. All this was being said when in fact he was asked about SRH's place and prospects.
Sehwag did not spare him and interrupted Mishra sharply with a funny remark. He reminded Mishra that the subject of discussion was SRH and not MS Dhoni or CSK. The way Sehwag said it made everyone laugh and added a light-hearted moment to the conversation. Mishra immediately apologized for getting off track. Sehwag responded again jokingly and said it’s all because of Dhoni’s aura that people cannot stop talking about him even when he is not directly involved in the topic. This funny incident showed how even in serious cricket discussions former players can bring humor and entertainment.
While the banter between Sehwag and Mishra entertained the fans, the match analysis was serious. SRH had recently lost a game to Mumbai Indians and were placed at the bottom of the table. Having won only two games out of their first eight their playoff hopes were dwindling. Leading the SRH side this season is Pat Cummins, who also spoke after the match and agreed that the side did not have a player to steady the innings in difficult phases. SRH had folded up early in their innings and were 35 for 5 when Heinrich Klaasen and Abhinav Manohar contributed some useful runs. Cummins added that their performance ensured SRH crossed a fighting score but it was still not enough to win the game.
This defeat put additional pressure on SRH as they were getting ready for their next game which was against CSK. Surprisingly both CSK and SRH had two wins each till then and were at the bottom of the points table. Their upcoming game against these two struggling units was regarded as a do-or-die fixture for both sides. Although CSK also didn't have the best of years fans still believed in them and that was all due to the presence of MS Dhoni. Dhoni still remains one of the most highly discussed personalities from Indian cricket even when his own team is playing poorly and even then his name is always referred to.
This Sehwag-Mishra clash on a live show was a social media and cricket fan favorite. It demonstrated the presence Dhoni commands within cricket fans and also brought back memories of the playful nature of players like Sehwag who do not shy away from voicing their opinions. Whether analysis is major or light-hearted, moments such as these make cricket commentary more fun for all to watch.
Eventually while the joke was on Mishra it was taken in a good spirit. The attention now is on the performances of SRH and CSK both of whom are struggling hard to return to the top of the table from the bottom. Fans expect that both the teams will make a comeback and provide some thrilling matches in the latter half of the season. For the moment cricket followers are enjoying the combination of drama action and comedy both on and off the field.
