Sri Lanka to Host Inaugural Men's T10 Tournament in December
The tournament will feature six franchises, one more than the number of teams in the popular Lanka Premier League (LPL), and is expected to attract both local and international players.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced its first-ever men's T10 tournament, set to take place from December 12 to 22. This new addition to the cricket calendar will be held in an 11-day window following the conclusion of the second Test against South Africa and before a white-ball series against New Zealand. The tournament, known as the Lanka T10 Super League, marks a significant step as SLC ventures into the shorter T10 format for men, following previous efforts centered on a women’s T10 competition.

Partnering with T Ten Global Sports, which also manages T10 leagues in Zimbabwe and the West Indies, SLC aims to boost excitement around Sri Lankan cricket and introduce a fresh format for fans and players.
The tournament draft is scheduled for November 10, and will include an opportunity to select emerging talents from Zimbabwe and the West Indies in later rounds. SLC President Shammi Silva expressed confidence in the tournament's impact, calling it a dynamic addition to the Sri Lankan cricket calendar. The timing should allow Sri Lanka’s top players to participate, bringing a strong competitive edge to the event.
