Stuart Law Released as USA Cricket Head Coach Amid Ongoing League Campaign
Atkeison expressed gratitude for Law's contributions, noting that USA Cricket felt "a change was necessary for the next phase of competitive preparation." Venu Pisike, Chair of USA Cricket, also extended well wishes to Law for his future endeavors.
USA Cricket has parted ways with Stuart Law, the head coach of the men’s national team, as announced by CEO Johnathan Atkeison. While specific reasons were not provided, Atkeison acknowledged that the decision was challenging, stating, "It was not an easy decision to make." The move comes during the team’s ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 campaign, only a day before their match against Nepal in Dallas.
Law’s tenure, which began in April, saw the team achieve notable milestones, including a historic series win against Bangladesh in T20Is and advancing to the Super-Eights stage of the T20 World Cup. In a remarkable achievement, USA defeated both Canada and Pakistan, marking their best-ever performance in the tournament they co-hosted with the West Indies.
Atkeison expressed gratitude for Law's contributions, noting that USA Cricket felt "a change was necessary for the next phase of competitive preparation." Venu Pisike, Chair of USA Cricket, also extended well wishes to Law for his future endeavors.
Despite the unexpected departure, USA Cricket remains in a strong position, currently second on the Cricket World Cup League 2 points table with six wins from nine matches, as they pursue qualification for the 2027 ODI World Cup.
