Yorkshire Sign Jack White from Northamptonshire on Two-Year Deal
Yorkshire has bolstered their bowling attack by signing Northamptonshire seamer Jack White on a two-year contract. The 32-year-old's move comes after Yorkshire triggered a clause in his contract that allowed him to join a Division One club.
White, who made his debut in 2020, has been particularly impressive in red-ball cricket, taking 114 wickets at an average of 25.18. Reflecting on his move, White expressed his excitement about joining the club, saying, “I’m incredibly honoured and extremely excited to begin this new chapter with Yorkshire. Headingley is a special place to play, and I’m looking forward to continuing to develop my game and playing my part in achieving success for Yorkshire.”
Yorkshire, who finished second in Division Two last season, earned promotion to Division One and will be playing in the top tier for the first time since 2022.
Gavin Hamilton, Yorkshire’s general manager of cricket, welcomed White’s addition, noting, “He is a brilliant addition to the team and offers another dimension to our bowling attack. He is the kind of player who will continue to add value to our dressing room, and we look forward to working with him.”
Meanwhile, Northamptonshire expressed disappointment over White’s decision to leave, with chief executive Ray Payne stating, “While it is a real shame that Jack has decided to move elsewhere, everyone at the club thanks him for his efforts and wishes him the best moving forward.”
White was under contract with Northamptonshire until the end of the 2025 season.
